Did newspapers in the late 1920s report details of Guardianship hearings?

Probably, if they were interesting!

I think what you are asking, is would they be allowed to, and the answer is almost certainly YES.

Children weren't really considered to have any rights and as far as I can tell, newspapers could print what they felt like printing, unless a sum of money was applied by someone who didn't want things to be printed! No privacy laws back then.
