Default 6 months old in 1841 when born ??

if a baby was said to be 6 months old on the 1841 census when is she likely to have been born thanks

The 1841 census was taken on the 6th June 1841 Val, so the child would have been born 6 months before that, earliest 6th December 1840.

The census was taken on 6th June 1841 so December 1840.

The other census dates were
1851 Sunday 30th March
1861 Sunday 7th April
1871 Sunday 2nd April
1881 Sunday 3rd April
1891 Sunday 5th April
1901 Sunday 31 March
1911 Sunday 2nd April

Yes but remember it wasn't law that babies had to be registered until I think 1873 so you may not find one, you are more likely to find a baptism as few went un-baptised.

Could very possibly be in either Val. Is there anything on the IGI to give you a clue or is it a very common name?
