how can i find whether someone is living or dead ?

i have been looking and cant find anything only there parents......mary from spain has found there family and as im not a paid member on ancestry it wont let me check ones that i thought might be one.i have scrolled till my eyes are rollingi cant put names as there might be a possabilty they may be alive. lol brenda xxx
