Default Northern Ireland research

I've never researched families from Northern Ireland before.

In 1914 Annie Bamber married in England. Her father was Thomas Bamber from Po-?, Co. Armagh. (Poor quality newspaper entry)

How would I go about researching this family?

I think I've found her on the 1901 Census.

She was M.A. when she married.

Hmm, I was going to ask Catholic or Protestant as there would be different records to look at depending on which but I see they were Quakers. You will be best to start with the Irish Civil records, which are free to access, and which include Northern Ireland up to 1922:

Here is William Barcroft Bamber's birth registration, giving MMN as Grimason or something like that, hard to read:

(I haven't found Annie's birth reg yet.)

Hmm, here is the registration of an Alice Bamber, born 9 Aug 1880 Lurgan, parents Thomas Bamber and Alice nee Grimason:

I've been making good progress, Kate.
Yes, they were Quakers, which is making research easier.
Thomas Bamber died in 1893. His wife Alice (Grimason) was a midwife.
I have found some of the births but not Annie's.

There is an 1884 birth reg for the Alice who is 16 in 1901:

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy....73/1984859.pdf

I don't see a death reg for the first Alice, so was the wrong name registered, or they decided to change her name to Annie later?

Hmm, confusing.

I reckon they made a mistake with the name.

Result, I've found her on the 1939 Register in Lincolnshire with her daughter.
DOB corrected from 9 Aug 1884 to 9 Aug 1880.
