Australia help please
I've been trying to find the fate of Catherine Adams born in Whitechapel, London in 1818 and baptised the same year at St Mary Moorfields RC.
In 1841 she's in Chapel Court, Essex Street, Whitechapel with her parents Michael and Margaret (their ages are twenty years out and I know nothing of their fates) - http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/89...86659961/facts She's still in Chapel Court in 1844 but by 1851, she's in St Sepulchre Newgate with her sister Mary Dempsey and niece http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/88...86659961/facts In 1861, Catherine is still with Mary and Mary's other daughter at a different address in St Sepulchre. http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/87...86659961/facts After this, I lose all track of Catherine, Mary and both of Mary's daughters. I haven't got all the possible death certificates for Mary Dempseys in London so she may be accounted for there but none of the possible marriages for her daughters seem to be them. I'm fairly confident Catherine isn't any of the possible Catherine Adams of a similar age in future censuses. I've just found this Catherine Adams in the New South Wales passenger lists for 1862. Single, 42, domestic servant, from London, RC and unable to read or write, all of which fits or is quite likely.http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/12...nSearchResults Can anyone find anything to support this being my Catherine please? |
