Ann Green nee Edwards
Ann is the daughter of William and Sarah Edwards b circa 1829 in Edgefield, Norfolk.
In 1851 she is housekeeper to the (very much) older Jonathan Green.http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/88...nSearchResults In 1856 she is informant to her father's death as Ann Green (well, I suppose that's who the informant is. In 1861 she is the *wife* of Jonathan Green (no marriage, of course) Jonathan dies and Ann disappears. Logically, she's a housekeeper/wife somewhere, but I'm blowed if I can spot her. If I could get to the Norfolk Record Office, the rector's annotated copy of the 1861 census would doubtless provide a clue!! There's no way she would be buried there as Green!

Are you sure they weren't married, Phoenix? There is a possible marriage in Jan-Mar 1853 in Norwich on FreeBMD (the other two names are William Brown and Sarah Ann Emms).

Okay, it comes up on FreeREG: 15 Mar 1853 at St Benedict, Norwich, and it certainly looks to be the same couple, with their ages adjusted to reduce the gap.

EDIT You don't need to read all this. Skip down to post 13!!
I haven't looked at any entries after 1861 yet, but I did notice this.... All Ramsgate Road, Edgefield 1861 Jonathan Green 75 Ann Green 32 Next door neighbours: Samuel Dagless 39 Sarah Dagless 37 wife, born Thornall (?) Sarah Ann Dagless 4 dau Agnes Dagless 8 dau 1871 Ann Dagless 42 widow, born Edgefield Sarah Ann Dagless 15 dau So, is that Sarah Green posing as Sarah Ann Dagless's mother?

Sarah did die, but I've not found anything else:

Hmmmm.....If that is Ann she said she was a widow, but Samuel Dagless wasn't dead:
Deaths Dec 1888 Dagless Samuel 68 Erpingham 4b 45 so perhaps she was meaning she was Ann Green, widow, but somehow ended up on the census as Ann Dagless because she was in the same house as Sarah Ann Dagless? I will have a look to see where Samuel was in 1871.....

OK, Samuel Dagless (transcribed by Ancestry as Dagley) is also listed with his dau, Sarah Ann, on a different page in Edgefield! He says he's a widower, so I guess it's just a mistake that Ann Green is recorded as Ann Dagless.
So, what next for Ann?......

Hmmm.....In 1871 Ann was recorded as Ann Dagless widow and I thought that was a mistake, but.......At that date her neighbours were the Peacher family in Ramsgate St.
in 1891 (not looked at 1881 yet) the Peacher family are still in Ramsgate st and livng next door is Ann Dagless widow b Edgefield aged 63. On the other side are a family called Potter and there was a Potter family next door on one of the earlier censuses too..... Now for 1881......

No luck with 1881 at the moment.

Going with Green or Dagless, the only sensible death I can see (for age and place is this one:
Deaths Mar 1904 GREEN Anna 77 Erpingham 4b 47 So, I need to see who this might belong to on the 1901 census......
