Nellie Walker born 1883 Bromley reg. district
Using the new GRO search facility:
Name: Mother's Maiden Surname: WALKER, NELLIE HOUSE GRO Reference: 1883 J Quarter in BROMLEY Volume 02A Page 388 In 1881 Nellie's father, William Walker, a harness maker, was in Chelsea with some of the children: http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/65...G12_59_61-0103 Her mother, Margaret (maiden name House) was a servant for the Laing family in Kensington: http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/65...27/edit/record I assume Nellie died because we had no record of her before. The family lived in Beckenham in 1881 and that would probably be where Nellie was born (Bromley reg. district). http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/75...75429799/facts I've looked for a possible death, but nothing shrieks out at me yet. |

If William and Margaret were separated then William might not actually be Nellie's father.

Ah, there are some baptism records coming up in the "England, Select Births and Christenings" on ancestry which I think are taken from the FamilySearch database, showing that she was born 21 Mar 1883 and baptised 11 Oct 1883 at St Michael's, Beckenham, Kent, parents William and Margaret, so ignore my earlier post! Her name is spelt Nelly on the baptism transcriptions.

I somehow missed that, Kate. Will have a better look. Thanks.
