Default Edward CRICKMORE

Can anyone see Edward in the 1939 register please?

There are two Edwards born about the same time.

The first can be followed quite easily
Birth reg. 1867 Altrincham Cheshire
Census 1871 -1911 Altrincham Cheshire
Electoral Roll 40 yrs+ Altrincham Cheshire
Death 1950 Bucklow Reg Cheshire no doubt Altrincham

Mine is not so easy.
Birth 1868 Ipswich Suffolk
Census 1871 Ipswich Suffolk
Census 1881 Birmingham Warwickshire
Census 1891 In Malta with the army
Census 1901 Coventry Warwickshire
Census 1911 Jesmond St Andrew Northumberland

The only other Edward records are Electoral Roll in 1920s & 30s Leicester & death & burial 1942 Leicester so why can't I find him in 1939?

I saw he was married to Maria in 1901 and said he was married in 1911 but Maria was dead by then wasn't she? (sorry but this laptop is too slow to look at anything twice!). What do you know about his marital status in 1939?

Unfortunately not Kate, his birth was registered in the March Qtr & he was baptised the 29th of that month.
Spring 1926 18 Wanlip St Latimer Ward
Autumn 1926 8 Wolsey St Abbey Ward
1930 41 Hughenden Drive Aylestone Ward
1931 42 " " " "

I looked at Hughend(o)n Drive in 1939, I'm wondering if he has been redacted erroneously!!

He died at Leicester Infirmary & was buried 5 Jun 1942.

Edward is my 2xg uncle & I'm just trying to make sure I've killed off the correct person.

Maria died Jun Qtr 1901 & he remarried in 1907. Here is a thread about his 2nd marriage which remains unresolved - no idea what happened to her. I'd forgotten a lot of this but Mary from Italy found his address was Grange Lane when he died. I've just checked & he's not there in 1939

Fantastic Merry, it has to be. How do you do it?

I'd love to know how he ended up in Leicester but I don't suppose I ever shall & there's still the 2nd wife puzzle as I can't kill her off.

Many thanks.

Think I finally searched ....no forename....surname *more...year of birth 1868+/-2 living in Leicester.

When I'd done similar with no surname and Edward in the forename box I didn't find him because Edwards isn't a variable of Edward apparently!
