Default The Hewett Family

George Hewett of Reading marries Louisa Giffard in 1845:

I am interested in Louisa. I know this is the right marriage, because her father is a fishing tackle maker.

This is the family in 1861:

George is dead by this time and she has her sons Henry and Frederick with her.

These are happier times in 1851. Well, George is alive anyway. And she has baby daughter Clara, Frederick then aged three, and her brother Frederick with her.

I assume that George died/disappeared about 1855, when the family were admitted tot he workhouse, and Louisa between 1861 and 1871, when the boys are living together, but I am starting to get confused as Ancestry wants me to add an extra child because there is another George and Louisa out there, only that George is a newsvendor and entirely different.

Can anyone spot convincing deaths for George and Louisa?

There is a George Hewett death registration in St Pancras district Jul-Sep 1855, vol 1b p 38.
And a Louisa Hewett death Jul-Sep 1865 Islington district, vol 1b p 169.

This could be the burial for that 1855 St Pancras George Hewett death:
http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/29...nSearchResults

Victoria Park Cemetery, Hackney: George Hewett, 15 Bedborough St, New Rd, 29 Jul 1855, age 39. Your George was 35 on the 1851 census so the age would fit.

Fantastic! Thank you Kite. That might reduce the confusion. Though I doubt it!

Just to add - I found her discharge from the workhouse - indexed as Somsay Hervitt
