Default Robert Laister and Elisabeth Maw

Grandparents of Elizabeth Laister

As yet all I know is that they married at Haxey, Lincs on 31 May 1746 and thier son Robert was born in Epworth Lincs in 1752.

There is a Robert Laister buried 16 Oct 1805 at Epworth and another one 20 Jan 1806, also an Elizth Laister, widow, 20 Mar 1810, but no ages given for these on FreeREG2.

Thankyou Kiterunner, looking at Lincs to the Past it seems that there are wills for both Robert senior and junior in 1805/06. I have just emailed them to ask how much they cost.

I'm only used to ordering wills from Sussex - I ask for an estimate, they tell me the cost and I post of my cheque and order form, Lincs are unable to tell me how many pages there are or the cost until I have placed an order and the documents have been retrieved, prices vary according to whether they are bound in a volume or not.

That's strange, Jill. What if it turns out to cost more than you are willing to pay?

Cornwall RO do the same thing. I ordered some wills a couple of weeks ago and filled in the forms and they asked me to specify an upper limit on what I wanted to spend. They say that wills are normally a couple of pages but some can be longer.

I actually paid just under £17 for five wills, which I thought was good value.

I don't think they will be too expensive

"Should the will be bound into a volume the following charges would apply:-

Document set up charge = £2.35
Shots per page = £1.30
A4 size printout = £0.85
A3 size printout = £1.15

Should the will be loose leaf and suitable for photocopying the following charges would apply:-
Scan per page = £1.30
A4 size printout = £0.85
A3 size printout = £1.15

We do have a minimum charge of £3.50 plus postage and packing"
