London research.
Where is the best place to start London research?
I'm thinking (just thinking, so don't all run away yet) of restarting my Ariel search. I have them in Bristol from 1720 ish, but there is another Ariel family in London and I have a feeling they are connected. I've done no London research prior to the mid 1800s so have no idea where I might even start with the early 1700s.

Libby, Ancestry has a lot of the parish registers online and FMP has some parishes too (e.g. Westminster).
Ancestry has London wills as well a PCC (Canterbury) wills. It depends where your research takes you, really! Good luck. |

There is a John Ariel with wife Judith in Stepney in the 1770s. He is a Shipwright.

Thanks Jill.
Elizabeth....I think I quickly looked through those wills a while back when I had The Genealogist as they had them all.....but it's time I had a better look (which translates to asking someone to look as I cannot read those at all...lol) It's that John who is interesting. William Ariel is a East India trader. There are a few Ariell people (with the double L) in Wales and around England. They are probably/possibly related way back as well.
