The marriage record says "Michael Southworth & Esther Jepson of Over Darwen" - I think this means they were both of Over Darwen.

This looks like a second marriage for Michael but I can't find anything saying whether he was a widower:
Michael Southworth of the parish of Blackburn weaver and Mary Mercer of the parish of Blackburn spinster married at St Mary the Virgin Blackburn by Banns 4 Nov 1779, witnesses John Nevill senr and John Nevill junr (serial witnesses).

There is a Michael Southworth baptised 11 Oct 1721 at Blackburn, son of John Southworth of Sharples, and my Michael's eldest son was named John, so it looks hopeful.
