Help reading name on Passenger List's Record of Aliens list, please
Can anyone help read the surname of the person above Lea Tenenbaum please. And is Pal the forename?
This is the link on Ancestry http://interactive.ancestry.com/7488...l=ReturnRecord (the 8th entry down) Also what do the relationships next to the forename on some entries signify? Thanks |

Is it Tring or Fring?
Looks like Pal & Neph after the name. Friend & nephew? Seems strange though, why would that be needed on the passenger list? Oh it seems there were 2 persons travelling together. A man and his nephew?

Thanks Sue
I was sort of hoping for Dring! It seems odd about the relationships - it seems to mean we don't have a forename for Tring/Fring/Dring Last edited by Muggins in Sussex; 20-09-14 at 13:04. |

Delving further it seems Pal was a first name. There are quite a few with Hungarian, Slovakian and Croatian nationality.
http://search.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/s...F0E_x&uidh=9p9 I was trying to read the word typed under the crossing out and it seems to start with Z (which is how I got to the above link!)

4th name up from the bottom. Seems he was Pal Zrinyi and his nephew was Jan and they were Slovakian..

Ooh - many thanks, Sue - that seems to eliminate Dring then, which is probably a great relief
