Applying for my Dad’s Service Record
Morning all!
I know Marg from Burton has done this. Has anybody else? I’m filling in the forms at the moment and it says “A copy of the serviceman’s/woman’s Death Certificate if he/she died following discharge from the service.” I don’t have my Dad’s original Death Certificate, I have the certified copy I got from the Register Office later. Do I send this, or can I just send a photocopy? If I send my certified copy, will they return it to me? Does anyone know? Thanks AN

I applied for my grandfather's and sent a photocopy of his death cert which wasn't the orginal one issued but one I sent for when I started my research.

I'm sure we sent photocopies. I asked Dave this morning after you texted me and he says we sent photocopies.

They just want to confirm your father has died so a photo copy would do I think.
