John Eugene McCarter Casey where are you ?
John Eugene McCarter Casey age 28 married Beatrice Kathleen Tomlinson on 24 June 1916 at the register office Fulham, he`s a Armourer R.N.A.S. Marine engineer, his father was Robert Casey (deceased) Captain (Royal Navy).
Witnesses were Edith Annie Birthistle ( Beatrice`s sister) and Nellie Ethel Prodger ,I have no idea who this is. I can`t find John anywhere before his marriage or a birth, he died 1940 Brentford Middlesex age 52. Can anyone find anything on him before 1916 please.

Nellie Ethel Prodger died Jul-Sep 1967 Ealing age 76. She is on the 1921 e roll with a Frederick William Prodger, so she must be Nellie E Bolton who married Frederick W Prodger Jul-Sep 1911 Fulham. Not sure that is any help!

I wonder whether this is John on the 1911 Irish census?

That 1911 record sort of ties in with this 1901 record, in that there is a John and a Robert, both b in Antrim and a four year-age difference.

Thank you Shona and Kate, I had a feeling he may have been Irish.
Its taken me a few years to find what happened to Beatrice Tomlinson, I was told she went to Canada, but nobody seemed to know where or when. A few weeks ago, I found an obituary on an Ancestry tree for a Beatrice Kitty (Tomlinson) Casey Marshall (1894 - 1962), her middle name should have been Mary, but the clincher was the names of the 3 sisters who survived her, so I sent for both of her marriages, just to make sure. Beatrice was my 1st cousin once removed. Now to buy those records, maybe it will tell me why he`s not on any census, unless he was in Ireland.

Hmm - there is this 1911 record as well. This seems to fit better with the 1901 record that I found rather than the one Kate found.
http://www.census.nationalarchives.i.../nai003983688/ 1911 Castle Street, Ballymoney John Connor, head, RC, 34, butcher, b Antrim Susan Connor, wife, RC, 25, b Antrim Patrick Connor, son, RC, 8, b Antrim Kathleen Connor, dau, RC, 6, b Antrim Mary Connor, dau, RC, 5, b Antrim John Connor, son, RC, 4, b Antrim John Casey, brother-in-law, 22, tailor, b Antrim Margt Casey, sister-in-law, 24, b Antrim |

The John on the 1911 census entry that I found (post #4) is an Electrical Engineer which is closer to occupation on the marriage cert. But may well not be him.

The National Archives have records of RN officers (inc captains) from 1756-1931. I can't find a Robert Casey.
