Default James Laurie II and Janet Barr

I have just found I know a lot less about this part of the family that I thought I did !

James Laurie II was baptised 16 May 1736 the son of James Laurie and Agnes Wilson at Kirkmahoe Dumfries. He was probably born at Carzield Farm, which had been given to James and Agnes by her father James Wilson of Holehouse Amisfield

James married Janet Barr about 1764 or so.

I only know they had one child, but probably had more

James died at Milliganton, a property his father acquired about 1739, from family accounts, at the relatively young age of 49, in Feb 1785 and Janet died at Milliganton in 1808, aged 76 years

I think I will have to get some credits for Scotlandspeople and dig a bit more.

Di

There are a number of wills/inventories for James Laurie III of Milliganton on Scotland's People.
