Whoever gives Notice of him to the Owner aforesaid, to David Ferrier at Bristo-port, Edinburgh, or to James Ferrier in Lugton, shall have a Guinea of Reward. Caledonian Mercury, Sat 26 May 1764 (plus several repeat notices) TO be SOLD, upon Wednesday the 27th of June, within Forrest's coffeehouse, Edinburgh, between the hours of four and six afternoon, All and Haill that TENEMENT of LAND, lying on the north side of the Grass market street, Edinburgh, near the city wall, formerly possessed by David Ferrier Stabler, and others, and now by Henry Walker and others, with a large area, convenient for building, measuring in length one hundred thirty-four feet, and in breadth about 30 feet; behind which there is a garden or yeard 95 feet in length, by 62 feet in breadth, capable of being turned to account in many different shapes... I don't know of a William, but there is a gap in the family that he might fit into. (Walter and Margaret married 20 Dec 1695 at Mid Calder, they have a daughter Margaret Fairer baptised 29 Nov 1696 at Midcalder, then the next baptism I have is Bethia Ferrier 31 Dec 1702 at St Cuthbert's, Edinburgh.) |
