Default John Gomm & Sarah Phillips

Sorry, I'm a week behind but can't do this week's.

John was born c1741 in Pishill, Oxon, son of Thomas and Elizabeth, farmers. He was probably a farmer of some size. He married 7 Dec 1775 Bix, Oxfordshire Sarah Phillips, baptised at Bix 31 Aug 1740, daughter of Thomas and Sarah Phillips. Witnesses were John Hoare (a regular) and Priscilla Marshall.

The parish registers for Pishill were mostly destroyed but I know from several wills that John and Sarah had five surviving daughters plus a sixth daughter whose baptism in 1785 and burial in 1789 survive.

Sarah died in 1801 and was buried at Pishill 13 May 1801, aged 63 (sic).
John died in 1818 and was buried at Pishill 22 Apr 1818 aged 77. There is no surviving headstone and neither appear to have left a will.
