1871 census difficulties
I have found a relative on the 1871 census but both the copy viewed online and the one saved to my PC are difficult to read.
I think the best way to do this is to quote census reference incase anyone can view it on another site (I looked on FMP) or have better luck reading it: RG10 Piece 3743 Folio 89 Page 29 Margaret Rutter (born 1813) with son Joseph (located near bottom of page). The address appears to be Hilbre Island (now a nature reserve) which is a small island in the Dee estuary (close to where the family originate). I know that in the past people did inhabit it but there seems rather a lot of them for such a small island! Also, Margaret's occupation. Can't make head nor tail of it. Any help greatly appreciated.

Her occupation is Farmer 3 Acres. I think the address says Hilbrae Island but seems to be the same place as Hilbre Island.

Thank you kiterunner. Hilbre is only small and mainly sandstone (been there many times as I grew up in West Kirby). She obviously farmed somewhere on the mainland and went out to the island either by foot or pony and trap when the tide was out.
