Passenger Lists from NZ to Aust
Are there such lists online? I'm interested in 1909-1910.
TIA

Knowing Kite she's probably right, Toni, but here's a blogger speaking in 2010 of a "new" CD giving passenger lists from Victoria, AU to NZ. Wrong way around, I know, but maybe you could mine the blog for more info as there are a lot of links, and/or contact the blogger.

I am not aware of anything. It might be worth searching newspaper sites, they often printed arrivals.
There would have been thousands of people travelling back and forwards and remember that having to have passports between the two countries is a relatively new thing, so any passenger lists may have been pretty basic.

This site might be helpful or not.
However, the passenger lists what there are have been listed by ship name alphabetically rather than year. http://www.yesteryears.co.nz/shipping/passlistn.html ahh I just realised it isn't the dates you want! Sorry |

There are lists for passengers arriving to Sydney, for ships up to 1922, although not everything beyond 1900 has been transcribed yet.
http://mariners.records.nsw.gov.au/ Also many ships arriving to Sydney and Melbourne and Brisbane, which would be the likely ports from NZ, had their passengers listed in the shipping news of the papers, so you could try the Trove Newspaper website. http://trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper Diane |

So you are a teensy bit frustrated Libby.
There is nothing on Trove as I search it for my names anyway. I'll try the other links to see if there is anything helpful. Thanks everyone.

I've tried everything I can think of but no luck on the lists. The mariners list mentioned above is a work in progress and is hit and miss. My people weren't on the ships that had been transcribed. Thanks everyone for the help.
