Ireland to New Zealand.
If a family went from their home in Kerry, Ireland to New Zealand some time between 1860ish and 1880ish does anyone know what the place of departure is most likely to be??
I have no idea if they paid their own way but they don't seem to be destitute either in Ireland or NZ. They also don't seem to be super wealthy.

Liiby the port is now called Cobh (pronounced Cove) but would have been called Queenstown then .. I thought I gave you the site .. I'll go hunting ..
It is where the Titanic sailed from and many of the famine and convict ships .. Outside it is a Memorial to Annie Moore? .. there is a very evocative song about her and Ellis Ireland, New York |

They could have sailed from Liverpool, though by then most ships called at Queenstown en route. And it's possible they travelled via Australia.

FamilySearch is currently transcribing New Zealand passenger lists, so it might be worth checking it out every so often.
