1911 Tom Cat listed
this 1911 census is referred to in my new FTM magazine thought it might tickle somebody
They have listed their Cat as Tom Cat aged 8 Married 16 children none died , occupation Mouse Catcher Soloist and thief. oh and read what it says underneath For anybody that does not have Ancestry this is what is written underneath "All the above mentioned have Breakfast, Dinner, Tea and Supper. Eat Standard bread Drink sterilized milk. Sleep with the windows open. Wash our Feet once a week etc God Save the King RSVP http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/23...l=ReturnRecord

I wonder how they could be sure he was the father of all the kittens!

I would have loved to have listed one of my felines on the census:
Black, teenage single mum, b London, parents unknown, eight illegitimate offspring by two unnamed fathers, six offspring given up for adoption in infancy. Sleeps most of the day and prone to staying out all night. The Daily Mail would be frothing at the mouth. |

As (according to the entry) he was married to the mother and therefore his name was presumably recorded on the 16 kittens birth certs, then the law would consider him the father

Also, the maid and Sister-in-law have Suffragette under the Industry column!
