Who was her child, Sue? Are they together on any census?

2, Elizabeth Higgs, born c 1843 Yalding Kent. Earliest census I've found her on in 1871, when she is living as the wife of James Hanmore (above) she is complete after that. First child born 1861.

3, George and Jane Higgs, parents of Elizabeth above. George born c 1801 in Windsor, Berkshire and Elizabeth born c1825 Mitcham Surrey. again I have 1871 by which time they were living in Kent, which is logical as their daughter was born there, but nothing before.

But how do you know that Elizabeth is their daughter?
Do you have her marriage certificate? If so, who was her father?

I have no absolute proof that the child is hers! perhaps, in hindsight, I shouldn't have posted her on here!!!

The supposed child is Elizabeth Higgs abt 1843 in Yalding (no birth/bap record found) died 1906 Malling Kent.

Elizabeth (daughter) can only be found from 1871 onwards and is already with her partner and children. (therefore no census records as Eliz Higgs)
Jane and her partner can also only be found from 1871!

I have assumed that Jane is Elizabeth's mother on the basis of when Eliz actually married (her second husband- I have the cert) She recorded George Higgs as father. George and Jane Higgs lived next door to Eliz and her 1st partner/husband (James Hanmore), Jane was also present at James Hanmore's death.

What you say at the end makes it more promising.
I just wish we could find some facts to back it up!

Will keep hunting, Sue.
