Date and place of birth: 30 March 1805 Bidborough, Kent Names of parents: Richard Smith and Lucy Avery Date and place of baptism: 23 April 1805 Bidborough, Kent Marriage: Henrietta Driver 26 October, 1826 Tonbridge, Kent Occupation(s): Agricultural labourer, green grocer, Addresses where they lived: Bidborough and Tunbridge Wells, Kent; Robert, Henrietta, George, Harry & Lucy Mary sailed from London via Plymouth on the “Coromandel” on the 14 June 1838 and after 110 days sailing, arrived Sydney on 2 October 1838 Assigned servant to the Ogilvies for 12 months at “Merton”, near Jerrys Plains in Hunter River area, Robert and boys moved stock to “Yugilbar” (Ref. “Squatters Castle” by George Farwell) and Fairfield, in the Clarence River area of NSW Date, place and cause of death: 18 October, 1858 Fairfield/Drake, NSW of Asthma Date and place of burial: October 1858 across the creek on land they would have owned at Fairfield. In year 2000 the headstones were across the creek from where Lawrence’s brick house is at Drake, NSW.
