Eliza Nash Matthews 1808-1875, Whichford, Warwickshire
Whichford baptism register:
19 July 1807 Eliza, dau of Ann Nash. Father unknown. Her baptism just gives mother as Ann Nash. There is a baptism for a Henry Nash 27 Dec 1801 to Richard Nash and Ann. Possibly this was Eliza's brother and Ann is Richard's widow. Eliza's 2nd son was called Henry. Henry Nash later had a daughter called Eliza. Eliza died just 12 days later. Death certificate: 2nd April 1875, Whichford. Eliza Matthews, 67 years. Widow of Emmets Matthews, farm labourer. Cause of death: typhoid fever 1 month and 14 days. Syncope. Certified by T.A. Hitchins, MRCS. Informant: Sarah Ann Mathews, daughter-in-law, present at the death, Whichford. [this was wife of Eliza's son George]. Registered 8th April 1875.
