Default William nicol - mff

Name - "official" name and what they were known as:
William Armit Nicol, known as Dy-Dy.

Date and place of birth:
Born on 25 April 1877 at Alma Street in Inverkeithing, Fife. He was illegitimate, but both parents were named on his birth certificate. His parents married when he was seven years old.

Names of parents:
William Nicol (plumber) and Janet Carstairs Armit (domestic servant).

Details of each of his or her marriages - if any:
Married Robina ('Beanie') Anderson Moyes on 3 June 1903 at Hillend in Inverkeithing, Fife. Witnesses: John Nicol and Jessie Todd.

Occupation(s) - if any:
Farm servant at the age of 14. Went on to become a plumber.

Addresses where they lived - and please list which censuses you have or haven't found him/her on:

1881: With grandparents in Inverkeithing
1891: With grandparents at Spencerfield Cot House, Inverkeithing
1901: 35 Avenue Road, Kinross
1903: Sluice Burn, Kinross
Continued to live in Kinross for the rest of his life.


Date, place and cause of death:
Died at home in Kinross at the age of 96 in 1974.

Date and place of burial:
Buried in Kinross cemetery.

None

Memorial inscription - if any:
No stone.
