Default John Lawrence

I know very little about John, even assuming that he is the right man!

Link to his wife, Rebecca http://www.genealogistsforum.co.uk/f...ad.php?t=11225

He was living in Mile End Old Town, Middlesex in 1815 and was a shoemaker at the time of his daughter's baptism, link to Elizabeth Mary, his daughter http://www.genealogistsforum.co.uk/f...ead.php?t=6900

Other than that I know nothing!

I have recently discovered some Settlement Exams for a John and Rebecca Lawrence/Laurence

1814 - http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/26...nSearchResults

1854 - http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/26...nSearchResults

These state that John was a shoemaker and that they married in 1808 @ St Leonard's Foster Lane, London http://interactive.ancestry.co.uk/16...nSearchResults

In 1814 they had one daughter aged 5 named Sarah, she was baptised at St George the Martyr, Southwark in June 1810. At about the same time as the baptism Rebecca and baby were removed from Southwark to Mile End Old Town.

By 1854 Rebecca claims to have had 10 children, 9 now dead, the only survivor being Sarah now married to Edward Berry, this marriage provides no clues. I can find no other baptisms for this John and Rebecca apart from the possible one for my 3xgt grandmother Elizabeth Mary Lawrence. Also in 1854 Rebecca claims that she and John parted "21 years ago". I have no sighting of him after this.

I don't know if these two are "my" John and Rebecca but I am inclined to think it likely, I just wish I could find some reference to Elizabeth Mary......
