Charles Hartnoll
I know very little about this man.
He was named as the father on Mary Ann Hartnoll's christening on 14th April 1800 in Braunton, Devon, England. (IGI batch C050411). The mother was Ann (maiden name possibly Perryman). Another look for him gave me this: A will was left by Charles Hartnoll of Braunton but destroyed by fire in 1942. It may be him, which would imply death in 1813 http://genuki.cs.ncl.ac.uk/DEV/Devon...ect/PECU2.html There is a Charles Hartnoll on the 1841 census aged 75, and a corresponding baptism (1764) - also a possible candidate - father Charles, mother Mary. So the will could be Charles Senior's.

It looks like his parents were Charles Hartnoll and Mary Pyke who married at the end of 1753.
This is their son, Charles, who was baptised in April 1764. (I'm going to need to find more siblings to fill the gap -EDIT - done: 1757-1771 5 more baptisms) He probably married Ann Perryman in June 1799, still unable to substantiate this online though and haven't managed to get to a RO either.

The Charles who died in 1813 was age 87 on his burial.
There is a Charles Hartnoll death registered Apr-Jun 1845 Barnstaple district (the district that Braunton was in). I can't find the burial to see his age though. |
