Found in an 1851 trade directory - John Goss, blacksmith, Sandown, Herts.

I was able to discount the John Goss Shona found in Sandon, Herts.
He was born Hackney 1775, parents John and Sarah (so I can discount that baptism when I look for my John's origins). Married Mary Marshall in Bedfordshire 1800 and was having children in Sandon when my John and wife Ann were having children in London. On the other hand, 2 blacksmiths called John Goss? I suspect a family connection. |
