If she died in 1843 then she should be on the 1841 census, but I can't see her on there.
Findmypast has a burial at Cowlinge for Mary Goymer 18 Jan 1832, age 58, which could be her? |

There are two possible baptisms on FamilySearch:
Mary Swan christened 18 Dec 1774 Cowling, parents Francis and Frances. Mary Swan christened 1 Oct 1775 Cowling, parents Henry and Mary. There is a burial for Mary Swan at Cowling 25 Dec 1774, but no age or other details given. |

NBI3 has two burials for a Mary Goymer in Cowlinge.
The 1843 one isn't her as she was only 49. The other is a possibility. Mary Goymer buried 18 Jan 1832 at St Mary's, Cowlinge. aged 58 making her year of birth c 1774.

If this is John on his own in 1841
http://search.ancestry.co.uk/cgi-bin...514143&recoff= Then that burial in 1832 looks a distinct possibility. By the way, your John was a neighbour of my Harveys And I have a 'Swan', Elizabeth baptised 29 Sep 1794 at Cowlinge but I haven't gone any further back with her yet. Chris
