There are a few possible deaths in Caistor district but if she isn't on the 1861 census I suppose the most likely is Mary Osbourne Jul-Sep 1860 Caistor vol 7a p 307. Before age was added to the death index so no idea if this one is the right age.

I have just checked on my burials cd and there is a burial for a Mary Osbourne in Old Clee on 17/8/1860 which would match the death Kate found, but this one was aged 36, whilst Mary would have been nearer 84. It is always possible that this might be a mistranscription.

That is possible Kate, thanks. I don't know that names of any Osbourne grandchildren but Samuel is certainly a family name so I will do some more digging.

This looks like the same Mary in 1851 because two of those same grandchildren are in the household, but I'm not sure whether this is your Mary or not?

I don't think it is my Mary, as I have her as being with her husband in Old Clee in 1851. They did have a son Samuel but he was older.
