No Shona because it was North Shields in Northumberland. I'll add the county.

Even the OPR marriage didn't give any details of parents only the names of the bride & groom of this parish.

I have a feeling that perhaps his family travelled to the Appleby Horse Trials but he was christened back in Berwick but have no proof of my theory.

I've been there when the horse trials were on - amazing spectacle.
