Not sure if I should post this or not. The baptism & marriage are taken from a public tree on Ancestry, although his baptism is listed on Family Search. Also listed on Family Search are the baptisms of his daughter Elizabeth and other children, but he does seem rather old to be fathering children in the late 1790s and early 1800s. Maybe I have skipped a generation?

FreeREG has a John Beard burial in Bratton Fleming 29 May 1816, age 55, so born about 1760-1, who I would think more likely to be Elizabeth's father.

Thank you Kite. I always forget FreeREG :( I'll investigate that burial further.
