National Probate Calendar (England and Wales) - ancestry

Looks as if this could be very very exciting!

Let us know what you find!

oooh thank you :)

Kit 10-08-10 12:27

Thanks Kate.

My lot don't seem to have left a will but my OH's have plenty.

kiterunner 10-08-10 12:32

I should mention that it also includes people who held property in England and Wales but died elsewhere.

Dumbo question - I have found loads of Wills relating to my family, how do I now go about ordering a copy?

kiterunner 10-08-10 13:50

Think it still costs £5 for a postal copy, anyway, you can download the form PA1S and send it to York, or if you can get to one of the probate offices I believe you can get a copy there and then.

sorry, Kate. I was a bit excited so hit ancestry straight away

*hangs head in shame*

Anyway - I have already had a *screeeeeeeeeeeeeeam* moment with an early find!!!! Something I thought I'd never find out.................

kiterunner 10-08-10 13:58

Sounds exciting, Zoe; are you going to give us the details?
