Default Can i have your opinion please

Marg has very kindly found me some baptisms for the Holmes family at Staffordshire RO for St Modwen`s Burton on Trent,

Both born Burton on Trent

Sarah Holmes born abt 1786 (1841)...1767 (1861)... 1784 (1871) married Edward Hill 1810 at St Modwen`s, first 2 children Elizabeth and John

Thomas Holmes born 1791 according to the 1841 and 1851 census, married Catherine Mottram 1811 in Warwickshire and have Thomas, Elizabeth and Isaac amongst the childrens names

Baptisms Marg Found,

2 July 1786 Isaac Holmes son of John and Elizabeth of Bond End, Burton
2 Mar 1788 Sarah Holmes daughter of John and Elizabeth of Bond End
31 May 1789 Thomas Holmes son of John and Elizabeth (no abode listed)

And burials
21 Aug 1781 Elizabeth Holmes daughter of John and Elizabeth
25 Aug 1781 Frances Holmes daughter of John and Elizabeth

Thomas Holmes son Isaac married Sarah Hill nee Holmes daughter Amelia at Manchester Cathedral....first cousins ??????

What i`m asking despite the difference between the baptism dates to the census dates, could these Baptisms be my Thomas and Sarah, making them brother and sister, please

I haven`t been able to find one Merry, in 1871 she was a widow living with her married daughter in Chorlton on Medlock Lancashire

Thank you for looking

Edited to add... theres a Sarah Hill age 79 at Chorlton 3rd Q 1872, which gives her a different birth date again.

Will keep looking

also one in 1874 age 79

Do you have the witnesses' names from the 1810 and 1811 weddings?

C&P from this thread on the Hills, thanks again to Marg
http://genealogistsforum.co.uk/forum...ht=Hill&page=5

Edward Hill a widower, OTP and Sarah Holmes, a spinster OTP were married by banns on 31 Oct 1810 at St Modwen's parish church, Burton upon Trent.
Witnesses: Richard Aston or Euston, Hannah Ridge and William Shilton

Edward was confirmed as a Screw Forger in the children's baptisms. Most addresses did just say Burton Extra. The one for Emilia said the address was Bond End.

Burton Extra and Bond End are really the same place. It comprises the southern end of the town centre from High Street to the river Trent and towards Branston.
