Default FamilySearch - IGI

It seems that the "submitted" IGI entries are coming to the new FamilySearch site soon:

https://familysearch.org/search/collection/igi

As you can see on the link, there will be a way of selecting whether you want the "extracted" or "submitted" records, but I sure hope the submitted ones don't pop up when you don't want them!

I hope you can search separately. I don't like submitted records, if they had a definite source it would be different.

I don't like submitted ones either. I find it frustrating that I can't prove that the information is correct.

It is now live, and you can select which you want - "Community Indexed IGI" (= "extracted" records) or "Community Contributed IGI" (= "submitted" records).

I don't really mind submitted records as I got quite adept at spotting them. sometimes they turn out to be accurate, I have found, especially if they have definite dates and places.

It's the annoying ones like "parents Mr and Mrs Brown, England" which need to be removed, although that particular example would be completely ignored by any remotely serious researcher.
