if someone says born in London Wall ??
cannot find the birth of a Mary Ann Keen C in 1838 St Leonards Church Shoreditch
Notice it says born London Wall on a couple of census record did get one born in Bethnal Green 1839 but wrong girl any ideas what areas it would be registerd in thanks

So she could have been born before civil registration even started then, as she could have been born June 1837.
Still trying to sort out this London Wall thing... |

she has a sister born in sept 1835 in Aldermansbury so am hoping this one was just born into 1837 at least

I think it might have been Bishopsgate district July 1837 - Mar 1838 and then East London but I'm not sure yet.

there is one for a Mary Ann Keen March 1839 Greater London wonder if the christening date could be wrong ??????????????

Not sure which one you mean in Mar 1839, the Lambeth one maybe?
Anyway, I'm confused now, because FreeBMD / GENUKI say that Bishopsgate reg district was abolished 1st April 1838 and succeeded by East London, and FreeBMD's births for Apr-Jun 1838 are supposed to be >99% complete, but if you search for all births in Bishopsgate and East London in that quarter (without putting in a name at all), there are only 4 births! What's happened to the rest of them? |
