The marriage is from the IGI on Family Search (I entered his name and her surname and asked for marriages - results one)
The baptism is from the FS Pilot Site. (I entered her name and the name of the parish - results one) There are other baps for siblings in the same parish, including a Mary, but I'm not sure why anyone would think Sarah's name was Mary? Have you seen her recorded as Mary anywhere?

Never seen her recorded as Mary except on a couple of Ancetsry trees......and one son's death cert. That was in Australia in 1932 so I think I could discount that. An elderly uncle has her as Sarah Mary.
Now...I looked on both those sites.........lol

I am convinced that Sarahs are recorded as Mary because of Chinese Whispers.
I have several instances of this in my tree. Best example is burial of Mary, death certificate for Sarah. I think it must have been for women known as Sairey and misheard or misremembered. |
