Do you know for sure that she was the second wife, or could she be the third? Have you got details of when she married William?

Name: William Hatch
Marriage Date: 21 Dec 1733 Parish: Broad Chalke Residence: Bramshaw Spouse: Sarah Holliday Spouse Residence: Out of Wiltshire Document Type: Licence Notes: Sarah is of Newbridge, Hampshire from Ancestry On the tree I was given she was the second wife. It is possible she was wife no. 3, of course. From her will it seems that she and William had no (surviving) children. She names a sister, William's children, and a few other people. |

I wonder if "Senior" on that marriage to Christian could be a mistranscription of "Junior". As you say, you would need to get a look at the parish registers to find out.

I think I'm just going to have to be patient until I get the baptismal index and also replies to a couple of e-mails.
I might try e-mailing the Wiltshire and Swindon History Centre re. the marriage of William Hatch and Christian Winter at Landford. |

Landford has an OPC:
http://www.wiltshire-opc.org.uk/gene...m/201-landford But it looks as though you have to register with that site to be able to contact the OPC.

Thanks for that, Kate.
That is very interesting as Sandy Mursell is the person who gave me the Hatch tree as a PDF file and we have already communicated! Bramshaw is also under Sandy. Last edited by ElizabethHerts; 24-09-13 at 10:40. |

Wiltshire Archives certainly turn around their queries fast!
I e-mailed them 40 minutes ago. Here is the response: "I can confirm that William HATCH jnr of Bramshaw married Christian WINTER in July 1731 (no date given) in Landford The cost of copying the parish entry is the total of £5.00 which is our minimum copy charge and includes postage." I am very happy now - the transcription in Ancestry is wrong, Kate, as you suspected. |
