From me I like to rate the interesting threads on research.
I don't always notice or get to see a lot of threads but this one is a good example of how you can research from one baptism and find so much about a 'family' and their history. Oh and by the way this thread has had 2,015 views so certainly its very well viewed. Last edited by maggie_4_7; 12-03-13 at 14:02. |

Thanks Maggie. I certainly think it has been wonderful, but I am a wee bit biased..
Have you ever visited Armoury House? Is it near you? It is certainly on my list of must see places next year. |

Also St John Hackney is too and I remember you were asking would any headstones remain - I am not sure I don't think so - inner London Churchyards haven't fared to well over the last 100 years. I have walked through St John's churchyard many times and although the grounds are fairly big not many headstones remain but on Thomas' burial I assume there's number so if we asked we would be able to pinpoint the area. I might take a wall through there again at the weekend. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...st_johns_1.jpg "The Church of St John-at-Hackney is situated in the London Borough of Hackney. It was built in 1792, in an open field, north east of Hackney's medieval parish church, of which only St Augustine's Tower remains." http://www.stjohnathackney.org.uk/past.shtml Last edited by maggie_4_7; 13-03-13 at 19:42. |

Weren't some of the extended family buried in the church? May have been the Russells or Woods.
