There is a Reuben Page marriage to Mary Buckley 8 Jun 1834 on the IGI, but at St Mary, Bury, Lancashire, so probably not the right one.

yes, I have pondered over that one for a while, but it does seem a bit far from home. Mary's 1841 census says she was born in Warwickshire, but I know that's not always accurate. I did consider that she might have been from Corley, as her son Joseph claimed to be born there (although he also claimed Birmingham !). I cannot find a definite death for her either, there are three in Birmingham in the 1841-46 period. May be I should get Joseph's birth cert ? It should be the one in the Dec Q 0f 1840 Birmingham. I should have thought of it earlier, except I did not think that Mothers maiden name was on birth certs that early. |

Yes, mother's maiden name was on the certs right from the start in 1837, it just wasn't on the index in those days.
