Kat - that is fascinating; the fact that she was known as Ann and not Mary Ann. Thank you so much for the burial details, when I am next up in north Yorks I will look for her at that church.
Her daughter Matilida (known as Hilly), my grandmother, was taken out of school at the age of 12 when Mary Ann died to help with her younger siblings. She grew up to be a formidable lady, and although her education had been cut short it in no way impeded her progress through life! She was super intelligent, and very very frightening!!!

It is Mary Ann - Sorry. The age given as 47 sounded right.
