WWI service records
Is it just me or has anyone else had difficulties locating their relatives on Ancestry? I have lots I have been trying to find, now Ancestry is stating they have updated & completed the records, how come I can't find any of mine, despite having the photos to prove they were in the Services in WWI ?

They could be part of the burnt ones. My grandfather's service records aren't there and he was one of those killed in action.

2/3rds of WW1 records were damaged or destroyed by fire in WW2.

Oh great! That explains it then! The only one I have found was one Granddad, the other one would have been really interesting as he was in the Camel Corp in Egypt.

My grandad isn't there either or his brother or uncle, which is a real shame.

I seem to keep turning up records which are indexed under completely different names - it's so frustrating!
