An Innkeeper in 1861
Hi,
My great x 3 grandfather James King was an Inn Keeper in 1861 and 1862 according to the census and his 2nd marriage. He was also a blacksmith. Would he have had to have been registered as a Victualler to be an Inn Keeper and if so, are there records that may list him? He was living at Parkgate, Almondbury, West Yorkshire on the 61 census. He was 41 and with wife Ann. His birth place is Ecclesfield, South Yorkshire.
