Default Ireland to New Zealand.

If a family went from their home in Kerry, Ireland to New Zealand some time between 1860ish and 1880ish does anyone know what the place of departure is most likely to be??

I have no idea if they paid their own way but they don't seem to be destitute either in Ireland or NZ. They also don't seem to be super wealthy.
