Default Thomas Kingston, born c. 1879

My OH has a DNA match of 116 cM across 7 segments with a person with the surname Kingston. OH's great-grandmother was Elizabeth Kingston, born at Whitby.

The tree is very sparse. Thomas Kingston, born c. 1879, is the person of interest (the match is one of his descendants).

Thomas Kingston married Florence Rosina Beazer in Q3 1921 at Hartepool, Co. Durham. They had two sons.

I have no place of birth for Thomas and his descendant says he was born at Swindon, which I believe to be incorrect. They said he died in 1939, which is probably because Florence was a widow by the time of the 1939 Register.
I found a probable death registration for him:

KINGSTON, THOMAS 50 GRO Reference: 1929 S Quarter in TENBURY Volume 06C Page 92

This means he was born in c. 1879.

On OH's tree we have a Thomas Kingston born Q2 1879 at Scarborough. He was the son of George Kingston, born 1843 at Whitby, the brother of OH's great-grandmother. I can find Thomas up until 1901, when he appears to be in the army. I'm trying to prove/disprove whether he is the Thomas who married Florence Rosina Beazer.

I haven't had any luck yet with service records.
