There's an article all about her in our W.I. Life this month, I haven't read it yet. My Mum gave me the name Philomena as a second name. Supposedly she was the saint you prayed to for an easy confinement.

Sadly one of the nuns who is named and shamed in the movie was one of those who tried desperately to help the women. When the movie makers were contacted about this ..they said it was only a movie ... so like many involved in the media, they are mainly interested in the money .. and the victims loose out again. Julie

I haven't heard of the movie but what am incredibly sad tale. I hope that it helps others to find out what happened.
