Hi! Wondering if you know when he and his family came to Qld. Ammanda

Sorry, should have looked first. I guess he arrived with Christina and daughter Christina, and possibly other members of the family, aboard the 'Nebo' 25 aug 1883

Yes Ammanda...that's him. Lots of other kids as well. My line is the daughter Isabella. She married Richard Thomas Weaver Ariel in Brisbane and then went to Rockhampton where she gave birth to, and buried their fristborn, then onto Listowel Downs (Central Qld) where she had three more children, burying two of them and her husband within the following five years.

I knew the facts but when we went to the courthouse at Blackall and saw the original handwritten records, I cried. I was so scared of getting tears on the record books and having the ink run...

Hi Libby,
In July I stayed at the family farm Kersmains, near Kelso (Roxburgh) and caught the bus over to Hawick passing through Jedburgh. I have some photos. I also bought some books I think. Julie

That is a sad story. Shows that our ancestors were a hardy lot to get through such loss.
