The burial for this Richard Plant is here:

http://www.lincstothepast.com/Record...337&iid=340652

It says:

Richard Plant Farmer aged 56

This fits in with the age of your Richard Plant.

The burial is also on FreeReg.

There is also an inventory:

Michael, if you go to Lincolnshire Archives again it might be worth looking at this:

I found a gem for Scotton in Lincolnshire. One of the vicars had recorded the burials and graves with the inscriptions and had made a map and also he drew the gravestones. Some of the gravestones are no longer standing, so it was a great find.

Thanks very much Elizabeth. I'm unlikely to be able to get to the archives again as I live further from Lincoln now and I should be leaving the country in a few weeks - I'll probably order a copy of the will instead.

There's a George Plant buried in Sibsey in 1788, which might be Richard's father - but with no age or occupation given it's hard to be sure.

Someone on Ancestry has claimed the burial as being for this George.

I have looked for a will for George but couldn't find anything.

However, you might want to bear in mind this LCC will:

Plant:
Richard, farmer, Sibsey
17541129
