On the right hand side of this 1841 image there is a family headed by William age 65 with: John age 35, Elizabeth age 5 and John age 1 and George age 23. They are underneath the Pearcy family. What do you think their surname is? Also William age 65's profession?

Looks like Saunders to me.

Occupation looks like Buck Maker?

That's a shame - I was hoping for Lawrence but now I look at it again you might be right :(. And no idea what a Buck Maker might be either :d

I've amended my original post as I'd written John instead of William - but at least you still found them! Thanks for looking, Wendy

Thanks Merry, Saunders seems to be it then. The Pearcy's above this family are mine. Elizabeth's maiden name was Lawrence and for a few brief moments I thought she was living next door to her father ( I have no idea what her father's name might have been)
If he's not her father the occupation is irrelevant as I won't be looking for the baptism now

Thanks again

S and L are often easy to mistake for eachother. If only they'd completed the censuses in block capitals, how much easier it would be!

A case of severe wishful thinking on both our parts, Nell!

Winnie the Pooh lived under the name of Sanders, and you know what happened to him.
